M.A Thesis

I have already finished my fieldwork in northern Mongolia with Dukha(Tsaataan) reindeer herders. At the moment, I am writing my thesis about how the Dukha relate to their environment, focusing on the concept of a land spirit called “cer- eezi” that acts as a mediator between all living things.

(This was a long project consisting of 9 articles I wrote to the magazine. I travelled from Turkey to Mongolia by motorbike and bicycle overland and collected similar fairy tales from local people in each country. It took 10 months and I stayed in the villages most of the time with families. The published articles were from Georgia, Kazakistan, Krygzistan, Uzbekistan, India, Nepal, Tibet, China, Mongolia)

Researcher in “The School of Nature” which is being built at the moment in Orhanlı village in Izmir, Turkey. The school aims to teach and research the traditional knowledge of Anatolia and sustainable thinking in coorperation with the villagers.(2012-….)
